John “Sean” T. McGuinness. Born in County Cavan, Ireland on July 19, 1935 to the late Bernard and Brigid (Conlon) McGuinness. 

Devoted & beloved husband of the late Mary McGuinness nee Coughlan, married for 58 years.

Loving father of Colleen (Joseph) Wintercorn, Mary Ann (Brian) Malec, & Noreen (Jasen) Smith.

Cherished grandfather of Joey, Matthew, Sarah, Abby, Jacob, Sydney, Norah, Tommy, Sean & Anna.

Dear brother of Brid (the late Eugene) Gallagher & the late Mayjo (the late Brian) Taaffe, and brother-in-law of Joan (the late John) Coughlan.

Fond uncle of many nieces & nephews.

Dear friend of many.  

Funeral Tuesday, August 13, 9:00 am from Thompson & Kuenster Funeral Home, 5570 W. 95th St. in Oak Lawn to St. Gerald Church for Mass at 10:00 am.

Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Visitation Monday, August 12, from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

Sean's family was the center of his universe, and he was sure to make everyone feel special and loved. Sean and his dear wife, Mary, shared a beautiful love for over 58 years. He was an extraordinary example of patience and kindness for his children and grandchildren.  Sean spent over 40 years compassionately caring for others as a Registered Nurse, spending most of those years at Rush Oak Park Hospital, where he made many lifelong friendships.
