William R. Brouwer

William R. Brouwer, age 76, US Navy Veteran. September 10, 1946 - March 20, 2023.

William is survived by Renee (nee Bloem), his loving wife and best friend of 56 years.

William was the devoted father to his three children: Daryl (Elizabeth) Brouwer, Rhonda (Michael) O’Brien and Brenda (Douglas) Sweetser.

William was the cherished Pop Pop of Evan, Aiden, Ryan, Graham and Madeline.

He was the dear brother of the late Peter (Phyllis) Brouwer, Theodore and Lucille Brouwer, and Mariann (the late Donald) Alsum.

Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.

William was a strong member of the Oak Lawn community for over 45 years.  He volunteered  on multiple boards and foundations in Oak Lawn, and established Oak Lawn Bank in 2000 and served as president of the bank until his retirement.

Resting at Thompson & Kuenster Funeral Home, 5570 W. 95th St in Oak Lawn where Services will take place Saturday March 25th at 10:00 am.

Interment Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation Friday March 24th from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
