Elaine Marie Rudnik

On April 9, 2017, Elaine Marie Rudnik, 92, of Oak Lawn, IL passed away peacefully at Palos Community Hospital surrounded by her family. Elaine was born on April 13, 1924 in Chicago to Marie nee Mrazek & Peter Seydel. In 1945, Elaine married John J. Rudnik and together they had 4 children: Glenn, Vern, Brad & Patricia. She was an avid bowler and owner of a flying club, Midway Flyers. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking & gardening. Her favorite thing to do was brag about her grandchildren & great grandchildren. All of her life she remained a diehard Cubs fan & was overjoyed when they won the 2016 World Series.

She is survived by her 4 children: Glenn Rudnik, Vern (Mary Jo) Rudnik,Brad (Debbie) Rudnik and Patricia (David) Majestic. 4 grandchildren: Michalene (Troy) Majestic-Barolet, Samantha Majestic (Tim Swisher), Joseph Rudnik & Briana Rudnik. 5 great grandchildren: SN Madison & Bailee Leguillin, Oliver Barolet & Savannah & Sierra Majestic, 1 great grandson Gabriel, sister May, many nieces & nephews, a “special” grandson Andrew Herrick (Big Foot) and her campground family where she was known as “Ma” or  “Grandma”. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband John, brother George and grandson Johnathan.

Funeral Thursday 10:45 am from Thompson & Kuenster Funeral Home, 5570 W. 95th St., Oak Lawn to St. Gerald Church for Mass at 11:15 am.

Interment private.

Visitation Wednesday from 3 pm until 9 pm at Thompson & Kuenster Funeral Home, 5570 W. 95th St. in Oak Lawn.
