Steve Berklan

Steve Berklan, U.S. Naval Veteran of the Korean War. He served as a Gunner’s Mate (Missiles) Petty Officer Third Class on the USS New Jersey BB62 - the most decorated battle ship of all time. He was a proud Cook County Gold Star Sheriff’s Deputy.

Beloved husband of 70 years to Lorraine Berklan nee Uloswceh.

Loving father of Cheryl (Thomas) Zimmer, & Lori Andrak.

Cherished grandfather of Alexandra (Eric) Faurie, Elizabeth (Greg) Roderique, Stephanie (Dan) Moon, Angela (Ethan) Wheeler, Annie Balser, & Amy Pondel.

Dear brother of the late Helen & Stanley Osika, Mary & Carl Lundgren, Stephanie & Al Knitter, Luke & Zella Berklan, Eva & Robert Clay, Catherine & Paul Blust, & Lucy & Lou Manes.

 Proud great-grandfather of Tommy, Ellie, Ben, Emily, & Peter.

Fond uncle of many nieces & nephews.

Funeral Tuesday, February 25th, 10:15 am from Thompson & Kuenster Funeral Home, 5570 W. 95th St. in Oak Lawn to St. Linus Church, Oak Lawn, for Mass at 11:00 am.

Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.

Visitation Tuesday, February 25th from 9:00 am until 10:15 am.
