Dennis W Godlewski 80, was a generous, kind, and loving man. He loved spending every minute of life, with his wonderful wife of 57 years.  Mary Ann was his other half and they loved life together.  After their marriage, they became parents to two daughters Denise and Dawn who admired their father every single day.  As life moved on, Harry Dubiel and Matt Waksmundski became the sons he never had, who learned so much from him, and always looked up to him.  He was the grandfather of three beautiful grandchildren, Zachary, Victoria (Patrick) and Lauren, who saw him as their hero.  He loved being a grandfather, and was devoted to each and every one of them.  They each loved their Poppy so much!  He served in the US Army as a Sgt. SP 5, worked on helicopter aircraft and motor pool, and was a long time member of the Evergreen Park VFW He was a man who could fix anything, but his passion was cars.  Dennis retired from the Cook County Sherif Department after  50+ years working as an automotive mechanic.  He grew flowers and vegetables that were beautiful, and he always loved animals.  One of his favorite places to visit was St. Augustine Florida, where he spent many summers with his family on vacation.  His parents, Walter and Mary, owned a farm in Wisconsin he also loved so much. Every weekend after work, our family would travel so he could help his father.  He grew up alongside his 2 brothers, Paul (Linda) and Walter Jr. and his sister, Mary Lou. We all loved him more than anything, and our hearts will be full for having him been a part of our lives.
