Steven P. Zacek

Steve died peacefully on Sunday after a long illness.  His passing leaves an empty place in all who knew and loved him.  Steve was born to the late Sam and Mickey Zacek of Willow Springs.  He lived most of his adult life in Oak Lawn where he was an outstanding member of the Century 21 Real Estate family.  He truly enjoyed his role in educating future real estate professionals.  Steve’s greatest passion was his family.  As a son, brother, stepdad and uncle, Steve was always the first there when you needed him-sometimes before you even knew you did. Steve found his life’s purpose when he met his wife Neena.  The devotion, friendship and love they shared was undeniable.  Steve also found joy in baseball as a lifelong Cubs fan, playing poker with his people and, mostly, laughing.

Steve is survived by his wife Neena, stepson DJ Hilt, mom Mickey, best friend and brother Scott (Maureen) and sisters Terri Gorman (Greg) and Barb Mocherek (Andy).  He was the hands-on definition of ‘Funcle’ to Val (Mike), Dave, Tony (Lauren), Chris (Zoe), Dylan , Nolan, Cayden, Ryan, Erika, Alyssa, and Steven.  He will also be missed by parents-in-law Marty and Kathy Peppler and sister-in-law Nicole.  Steve touched the lives of many lifelong friends and the many friends he made along the way.

Resting at Thompson & Kuenster Funeral Home, 5570 W 95th St, Oak Lawn, IL, where Services will take place Saturday, April 22nd at 11:00 am.

Interment private.

Visitation for Steve will be held Friday April 21st from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
