Jose G. Aranda

 
 

Jose Guadalupe Aranda, loving husband and dedicated father, joined our Heavenly Father on April 25, 2022. He was 77 years old.

"Lupe," as his family and friends know him, devoted himself to Maria Jesus, his wife of nearly 50 years. Together, they raised and educated Rogelio (Nubia), Veronica (Jose Antonio Dueñas), Gustavo (Jessica), and Luis Fernando (Katie). He was a doting grandfather to Carolina, Sofia, Isabel, Lorenzo, Cecilia, Camilo, and Lucia.

Born in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, he is preceded in death by his parents, Pompeyo and Maria del Refugio, and his brother Rogelio. He also is survived by two sisters and four brothers.

Lupe retired after 39 years with Central Steel & Wire Co. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Agnes of Bohemia in Chicago's Little Village neighborhood and St. Linus in Oak Lawn. He also was an avid baseball fan and loyal White Sox fan.

A funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 30, at St. Linus Catholic Church, 10300 S. Lawler Ave., Oak Lawn.

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 29, at Thompson & Kuenster Funeral Home, 5570 W. 95th St., in Oak Lawn.

Interment will follow at St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery.
