Patricia Ann Ryan nee Taylor of Oak Lawn, IL

Patricia Ann Ryan, age 82. Passed away peacefully February 4, 2022 after her 8 year battle with dementia. She was born May 1, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois. She was the daughter of Gerald and Nina Taylor. Patricia was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister, cousin and friend. She was a devout Catholic. She attended St. Christina’s Elementary School in Mt. Greenwood, Maria High School in Chicago and graduated from Moraine Valley Nursing School.

Patricia loved being surrounded by children. She was a catechist at St. Gerald’s in Oak Lawn for over 15 years. She served as PTA president in District 123, as well as school board president. After raising 11 children, she went back to school and earned her nursing degree where she went on to work at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn for 20 years. Patricia even took part in the ribbon cutting ceremony for Hope Children’s Hospital. When her hands didn’t have a baby or a rosary in them, she could be found knitting/sewing/fixing household appliances, supporting family or friends at their recital/sporting events, and even cheering on her beloved Chicago Bears.

Beloved husband of 63 years, Donald Ryan.

Loving mother of Mary (Wayne) Matthews, Kathy (Gregg) Glomb, Donald J. (Margaret) Ryan, Carolyn (Gary) Schumal, Peggy (Greg) McGlone, Patty (Montgomery) Youell, Dennis (Jean) Ryan, Michael (Mary) Ryan, John (Marie OSullivan) Ryan, Daniel Ryan & Jennifer (Mike Doerr) Ryan.

Cherished grandmother of 41.

Great grandmother of 28.

Dear sister of Ed Taylor & the late Maureen LoRusso.

4 sister in-laws, and 3 brother in-laws.

Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 great grandbaby Glen Jr., sister in-law Edith Ryan & brother in-laws Ronald Ryan, Mike Walsh, Jimmy Ryan, and Larry Ryan.

Funeral Thursday 9:15 am from Thompson & Kuenster Funeral Home, 5570 W. 95th St. in Oak Lawn to St. Gerald Church for Mass at 10:00 am.

Entombment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Visitation Wednesday from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
