Joseph A. Vasil

Joseph "Joe" Vasil, passed away October 14, 2022.

Beloved father of sons Paul and James, daughter Cynthia (Ted) Johnson, and cherished grandfather to Joseph "JoJo" Johnson, all of California. Loving brother of Albert (the late Karen) Vasil of Oak Lawn, IL. Dear uncle to his nieces and nephews. Friend to many. Joe emigrated with his family from Lithuania as a boy through Ellis Island, NY. He grew up in Chicago, and served in the Army during the Korean War from 1952-1954. He helped to establish the Pontiac Interlake Steel branch, where he worked in Sales, and retired after a 43-year long career. He enjoyed the company of his friends in Pontiac, where he lived for over 50 years. He was a proud member of the Pontiac Moose Lodge and Pontiac VFW. Graveside services will be held Friday, October 21, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at St. Casimir Lithuanian Cemetery in Chicago.
