Damian M. McCormick

Damian M. McCormick, age 64, of Oak Lawn. At peace with Christ, May 20, 2021.

He was born on February 21, 1957 in Detroit, Michigan.

Survived by his devoted wife of 33 years, Marianne (McLaughlin) McCormick

Loving father of Michael (Nicole) McCormick.

Preceded in death by his father and mother, Hugh J. and Philomena (Ward) McCormick and in-laws Robert E. & Jane T. (Burke) McLaughlin.

Dear brother of Patricia, Deirdre (John) Fazio, Mona (Tom O’Brien), Brendan (Priscilla), Kathleen (Kevin) Nimietz, Hugh and Michael (Phyllis).

Brother-in-law of Robert (Karen) McLaughlin and Joseph (Kathy) McLaughlin.

Fond nephew of Kathleen (McCormick) Tuba.

He leaves behind numerous nephews, nieces, countless cousins, a host of friends, especially his Air Force buddies.

He was a 1975 graduate of Morton High School, Hammond, Indiana, a proud Spartan graduate of Michigan State University, and a veteran of the United States Air Force.

On January 13th, 1977 Damian was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal as part of the security rescue team responding to the KC135 Crash that occurred on September 26th, 1976.

He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation Tuesday from 8:30 am until 9:15 am. Funeral Tuesday 9:15 am from Thompson & Kuenster Funeral Home, 5570 W. 95th St. in Oak Lawn to St. Gerald Church for Mass at 10:00 am.

Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations of masses, the American Diabetes Association and the Crohns & Colitis.
