Funeral Thursday 8:45 am from Thompson & Kuenster Funeral Home, 5570 W. 95th St., Oak Lawn to St. Gerald Church for Mass at 9:30 am.
Interment Bethania Cemetery.
Visitation Wednesday from 3 pm until 9 pm.
Jim was sworn in as an Oak Lawn Police Officer in 1980 and rose through the ranks, serving as a Truck Enforcement Officer, a Field Training Officer, a Juvenile Officer, and last, serving as a Detective. He was a former Criminal Investigator with the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force.
Jim performed many volunteer services with several organizations including the Megan Hurckes Forever in Our Hearts Scholarship team, the Oak Lawn Service Clubs DBA Oak Lawn Family Days where he served as president, an advisor for the Boy Scouts of America Venture Crew #2665, and as a manager for Westside Baseball.
