Frank Chlumecky

Francis (Frank) Chlumecky of Oak Lawn passed away on Friday, August 22nd, surrounded by his family. Born 1/06/27 Frank was the son of the late Lilian and Emil Chlumecky of Chicago. He attended Kelly High School in Chicago and served proudly as a corporal in the US Army at the end of WWII. He married the love of his life the late Dolores nee Wasierski. He was the proud father of 3 children: Sue (Rick) Graf of Las Vegas, Mike (Beth) of Chicago, and Tom (Pam) of Westmont. He was the quintessential doting Grandfather. He adored his 5 Grandchildren: Tyler, Ryan, Ellen, Eric and Megan. He attended countless plays, recitals, athletic events, and milestones in their lives, cheering them on and encouraging them. He was always slyly slipping money into their pockets. He remembered every birthday, anniversary, significant event with a hand-picked thoughtful card and phone call. He was the loving brother of the late Joe Chlumecky and Virginia (Andrew) Rabianski. Frank retired from Walgreen’s distribution center in Berkeley in 1991 after 47 years of faithful service. He was social person with a winsome smile. He always took an interest in others, was a friend to many and an enemy to none, he was constantly surrounded by friends. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, the American Legion, the VFW and the Pilgrims. He was also a member of St. Louis DeMontfort parish. Wake to be held at Thompson & Kuenster Funeral Home, 5570 W. 95th Street, Oak Lawn, 3:00pm-9:00pm. Funeral Wednesday 10:30 a.m. from Thompson & Kuenster Funeral Home, 5570 W. 95th Street, Oak Lawn to St. Louis DeMontfort Church for Mass at 11:30 a.m. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery.
