James Valentine
James Richard Valentine, 69, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 4. Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran, Oak Lawn Fire Department Division Chief, Beloved Husband, father, grandpa, uncle and lover of karaoke and the Chicago Bears.
He will be Remembered for his warm smile and famous dimples. “Ja-mez” had a way with words and will be remembered for lots of famous quotes. He was always ready to “mosey” to Missouri’s Lake of the Ozarks. “We make our own fun “ could often be heard, and always instilled the love and value of ”family first”.
Survived by his “all time favorites” his wife of 41 years. Susan, daughters, Amy, Jill (Brian), and Julie (Ed). Grandchildren : Addison, DJ, Nate, Emily, and Nick; sister, Babe Runge, brother Michael ( the late Cathy;) his 103 year old godmother Clara Niedbala; preceded in death by his parents LeRoy and Eleanor and Eleanor (Wallen) and his sister Carol ( the late Robert ) Ebeling. Adored by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Cherished friend of many.
We will raise a Miller Lite in Honor of his “last , last”.
Funeral Monday 9:00 am from Thompson & Kuenster Funeral Home, 5570 W. 95th St., Oak Lawn to St. Gerald Church for mass at 10:00 am.
Inurnment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery
Visitation Sunday from 3 pm until 8 pm
