Elizabeth Ksiazek nee Brogno 82 years; entered eternal life suddenly but peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on a beautiful sunny afternoon, Sunday February 24, 2013. Daughter of Italian immigrants- the late Carmella nee Grispino and the late Francesco Brogno. Daughter in law of Polish immigrants-the late Marjanna nee Wrobel and Jan Ksiazek. Rejoining the love of her life, husband of nearly 60 years, the late Bruno “Bro” J. Ksiazek. Resident of Oak Lawn and parishioner of St. Gerald’s for 40 years, recently of Tinley Park and member of St. Anthony’s in Frankfort. Loving mother of Karen (Daryle) Brooke, John (Sherry) Ksiazek, Mark (Carol) Ksiazek, Laura (Don) Kies Sr. & Lisa (Eric) Engel. Adored grandmother of Jason, Adam, Kattie (Dakota), Candi, Travis, Courtney, Brooke, Elizabeth (Johnathan) Nathan, Amy & Angel Casey. Proud great grandmother of Jason J., Matthew, Madison, Nicholas, Auston & Bella. Special Nana of Missy, Anand, Savita, Maya, Kavin, Bria & Baby Chandarana, Donny Jr., Shelly, Angel Sarah & Bradley Kies, Heather, Jason, Madison & Ryan Turek. Dear sister of Diane Brogno, Frances (the late Kenneth) Avery, & the late Marie & Jim Vechiola, Florence (Stan) Kwak & Theresa (Phil) Losurdo. Sister in law of Stanley Ksiazek, Irene (the late Frank) Kruk, Bernardine (Gene) Kwak, Anmarie (John) Harasym & the late Casimir & Irene Ksiazek, Walter & Vicki Ksiazek. Treasured godmother and auntie of many nieces & nephews. Funeral Thursday 8:45 am from Thompson & Kuenster Funeral Home, 5570 W. 95th St., Oak Lawn to St. Gerald Church for mass at 9:30 am. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday from 3 pm until 9 pm. Retired in 1993 after 23 years at Sweetheart Cup Corporation. Enjoyed bingo, making crafts, winning at cards, cooking, baking, and spending time with her family and friends and dogs, Penny & Puddles.
