Sr. Mary Charla Gannon

Sr. Mary Charla Gannon R.S.M., age 90, died on June 8, 2012 at Mercy Convent in Chicago. She was a Sister of Mercy for 72 years. Beloved daughter of the late Rose nee Gallagher and Elmer Gannon. Devoted sister of Sr. Mary Laurus Gannon R.S.M.,& the late Fr. Charles Gannon & the late Lawrence Gannon. Dear sister in law of Margaret Gannon Loving aunt of Charles & Barbara Gannon,Mark & Margaret Gannon,Mary Gannon,& Joan & Paul Palmer.Proud great aunt of Patrick, Joseph, Chelsea, Amy, Matthew,Aidan,Christopher & Nadia. Visitation Sunday June 10 from 3:00 pm until 7:00pm at Mercy Convent Chapel, 3701 W. 99th St. in Chicago. Mass of Christian burial Monday 10 am at Mercy Chapel. Interment Holy Sepulchre Sr. was an Iowan and always proud of her roots. She taught at St. Paul of the Cross, Park Ridge; Mt. Carmel and Precious Blood in Chicago. Sister also taught at Marquette High School, Ottawa, and Immaculate Conception in Streator. Sister Charla was a Parish Visitor at St. Bede the Venerable Parish for many years where she founded the Ministry of Praise and an Adoration Chapel. She also led 14 tours to Medjugorje.
